Well, the results are close to how I voted.

We think of things that are broken as things that are not working. What about things that won't quit working? I have a shredder that is supposed to run only when there is paper in it to be shredded. But it will run until I unplug the thing. Then there's the security light at my house. It is supposed to only come on when there is motion in range, and it is not supposed to come on when it is light outside. Last night, it stayed on all night when there was nothing and nobody outside.

I hate this.

This is the year of my tenure review. There are moments when it feels like a flip of Harvey Dent's coin.

The problem isn't who reads the blog. The problem is that the blog isn't much read anymore, which would be okay, but there is a certain amount of time some of the essays I've put on here have taken to write. Perhaps I put too much effort into the writing, at least when there are other things that need to be done.
